My name is Maria Chantelle Tucker. I am currently a Communications and Technology (MA) graduate student at the University of Alberta and have a BA in Image Arts from Ryerson University. I am interested in how technology shapes our culture.
I have worked with photography, film & video for the past 15 years. I have 12 years experience as a web and graphic designer and have extensive Web 2.0 knowledge. In addition, I have project managed and art directed within creative groups. You can see examples of my work in the Case Studies, Showcase, Design & Image sections of this site.
I am a whale naturalist and for the last 10 years, I worked as a wildlife documentarian and blogger. My photography and video work has been widely published across new media and broadcast spheres.
I also have interdisciplinary teaching experience. I was a teaching assistant at Ryerson University for Visual Studies, a film animation and photography specialist working with children at Harbourfront Centre, and am a Web 2.0 mentor for my clients. I am currently focused on teaching WordPress and social media.
